She was born on November 24, 1936, in Carmel, IN, to Clayton and Floreine (Randall) Evans. On July 28, 1957, in Carmel, IN, she married Frank W. Schrock, who passed away on July 12, 2016. Surviving are two daughters, Teresa (Richard) Yost, Valerie (Brad) Everhart both of Wolcottville; two sons, Gregory (Lorene) Schrock of Topeka, Geoffrey (Janice) Schrock of Plainfield, IL; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren: Dylan and Kristin and their daughters Lucy and Cora; Kelsi and Nate; Kara and Andrew and their son Franklin and a baby on the way; Dana and fiancé Ryan; Lukas; Brandon; Heather and her children, Vincent, Skyeler, and Addisyn; Sarah and her son Dante; Rachel and her son Emmett. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, Kenneth Evans. Barbara was an active member of Topeka Mennonite Church for over 55 years and most recently a member of Emma Church. She shared her gift of music, accompanying congregational singing with the church organ. Barbara helped with the children's Sunday School department, women's sewing and anywhere an extra set of hands were needed. She began her married life working alongside Frank operating and building their family farm. In later years, Barbara worked in the cafeteria of Parkside School and in the office of Lambright's Inc. Barbara had a servant's heart which shone brightly through the cards and letters she sent, looking after her family and her church families. The family will hold a private burial prior to the visitation which will be held from 12:00 pm noon to 1:30 pm on Monday, March 9 at Emma Church, 1900 S. 600 W., Topeka. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:30 pm on Monday, March 9 at the church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Gene Hartman. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Emma Church or LaGrange County Clothes and Food Basket.
