Barbara Jean Smith Stephenson, born on June 30, 1941, in Globe, Arizona, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Miami, Arizona. She lived a life rich with love, laughter, and compassion, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Barbara dedicated much of her working years managing and working as a bartender and waitress. Outside of work, she found joy in her church community, regularly volunteering at vacation Bible School, where she shared her love and faith with the younger generations.
A graduate of Globe High School, Barbara was a person of many talents and hobbies. She found solace in creativity—crocheting, sewing, painting porcelain, quilting, and bowling and playing cards.
Barbara’s spirit will continue to shine through her surviving family: her loving sons Mark Harden and James Harden, her beloved grandsons James and Kyle, granddaughter Amanda Bigby, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her Husband Dean Stephenson, Daughter-in-law Betty Harden and her brothers Jack Smith and Jerry Smith.
Barbara was a Breast Cancer survivor. She had an adventurous spirit and always volunteered and held out her Church and community.
As we gather to honor Barbara's life, the services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Miami, Arizona. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on February 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM, concluding at Pinal Cemetery.
