Barbara A. Smyczynski

Barbara A. Smyczynski, 70, of East Penn Township, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was a beautician for most of her life and prior to retiring, she worked as a waitress at East Penn Sporting Club and Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club and as a prep cook at P.J. Whelihan's, all of Lehighton.

Born in Bayonne, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Agnes (Ruzinsky) Lezinski.

She was of Catholic faith and was a member of the East Penn Sporting Club and Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club, Lehighton.

She loved the beach and going to the ocean, arts and crafts and hot air balloon rides. Barb was a fun-spirited soul and was the life of every party, as her radiant smile and infectious laugh lit up any room she entered.

Surviving are her significant other of 10 years, Arthur Betteridge; a son, Brian Murtha, and his wife, Yolani, of Scranton; a daughter, Nicole Miller, of East Penn Township; a brother, Robert Lezinski, and his wife, Linda, of Berkeley Heights, N.J.; a sister, Joan Duffin, of South Elgin, IL; three grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Service: Celebration of Life 11 a.m. Monday, March 31, Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 W. Penn Pike, New Ringgold, with the Rev. Virginia M. Heimer officiating. Interment, private. Memorial visitation 9-11 a.m. Monday. Contributions in her name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
