Barbara E. Squairs

Barbara E. Squairs, 86, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday at Crouse Hospital.
Barbara had a deep love for animals and shared her life with many beloved dogs over the years. Above all, she adored her children and was a devoted and wonderful mother. She was affectionately known by many as the "HBIC," a title she wore with pride and humor. She was prolific at writing rhymes and reasons about any subject, bringing humor and heart to her words just as she did to her life.
She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Arnold E. Squairs, Sr.; her husband of 20 years, Jack Getz; and her brother, Gerald Brown.
Survivors include her children, Debra Smith (Don), Arnold (Nancy) Squairs, Jr.; Mark (Mary) Squairs; William (Felicia) Squairs, and Linda Harke (Bob); 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Crouse Hospital's 4th Floor North and the Palliative Care team for their compassion and exceptional care, allowing their mom to pass with dignity. A special thank you to Dr. Singh, Dr. Gaydo, Bobby, Jaelyn, and Steph for their kindness and support during this time.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 14th from 4 to 6 p.m. at FARONE & SON, Inc. Funeral Home, 4899 W. Taft Road, Liverpool. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 15th at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 8920 Soule Road, Liverpool. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
