Barbara Stieringer

Barbara Ann (Adams) Stieringer, 87, of Aurora, passed away at home on December 16, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born on July 21, 1936, in Pierce, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Pearl Adams.

Barbara enjoyed sewing, dancing, playing cards, traveling, her whiskey and smoking, and sitting by a campfire. She was lovingly known by her family as "Sassy Sadie" and was well known for being quick-witted. She took great pride in her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She raised three children and later, adopted her granddaughter, Shannon, whom she raised as her fourth child.

She is survived by four children, Rhonda Lawrence and husband Jeff of Irvington, VA, Mary Radford and husband Fred of Roanoke, WV, Patty Arbogast and partner Johnny Shaffer of Terra Alta, WV, Shannon Stieringer and partner Aaron Koontz of Clarksburg, WV; nine grandchildren, Charles Fox and wife Chelsea of Lancaster, VA, Heather Thorne and husband Dave of Crawford, WV, Ted Fox and wife Lauren of Moyock, NC, Cory Radford of Roanoke, WV, Shane Arbogast and partner Crystal of Aurora, WV, Jennifer Radford of Weston, WV, Jackson Ankney, Lukas Ware, and Kru Koontz of Clarksburg, WV; ten great grandchildren, DeNae, Gavin, Gracie, Mason, Colton, Cooper, Callen, Emery, Declan, and Penelope; and a son in law, Darrell Arbogast.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM at the Aurora Memorial Building. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 11 AM in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Aurora with Pastor Sam Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Aurora Cemetery.
