Barbara Sue Stricklin, 75, of Hillsboro, Alabama passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at Decatur Morgan Hospital surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Christopher Stricklin and Bro. Robert Dempsey officiating. Burial will be at Morris Chapel Cemetery.
Born on February 18, 1950, to J.W. and Virgie Kelley Johnson. Barbara and her husband, George founded Old Time Gospel Fellowship in Hillsboro. She enjoyed floral arranging, listening to gospel music, and watching Gunsmoke and Swamp People.
Survivors include her daughter, Amanda (Steven) Sweatt; grandchildren, Christopher (Holly) Stricklin, Carlena Webster, Daniel Smith, and Craig Hagood; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Smith, Annie Smith, Kaylee Smith, Kayden Tucker, and Eli Tucker; brother, Samuel "Buddy" (Martha) Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, George Stricklin; parents, J.W. and Virgie Johnson; sisters, Mildred Melson and Audrey McGinnis; brothers, Robert and Wendell Johnson; sons, Donnie Stricklin, Carlon Stricklin, Joey Stricklin, and David Stricklin; and daughter, Bonnie Stricklin.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
