Barbara Sweatt, 76, Altus, graduated from this life to her eternal home on Sunday, December 4, 2022. Services will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Daniel Ingram and Tom Bailey officiating. Barbara Sue Sweatt was born on October 7, 1946 in Altus to James Marshall and Clara Francis (McCormack) Watson. She attended school in Altus and graduated with the Class of 1964, later attending Western Oklahoma Junior College. Barbara married Walter Dale Turner on March 3, 1964 in Waurika, Oklahoma and to this union two sons were born, James Wallace "Jamie" and Michael Edwin Turner. They shared 30 years together before his death. Barbara worked at Jackson County Memorial Hospital as the Medical Records Director, retiring in 2006 after 35 years of dedicated service. She married Kenneth Dale Sweatt at the Methodist Church on July 1, 1995 in Childress, Texas. Together they traveled throughout the United States, making friends on every adventure. Barbara was a lifetime member of the Delta Eta Chapter and active in Beta Sigma Phi. She was a long time, active member of Elm and Hudson Church of Christ. She greatly enjoyed traveling and exploring but she especially loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren in their activities. "Gigi" was their biggest fan!
