Barbara Sweet Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Connor Mortuary - Laguna Hills Chapel & Mortuary on Feb. 21, 2026.
Barbara Ann Sweet
December 12, 1942 – February 14, 2026

Barbara Ann Sweet, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, in Orange County, California. She was 83 years old.

Born on December 12, 1942, in Blackpool, England, Barbara carried her British roots with her throughout her life. Her warmth, gentle spirit, and unmistakable kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. A devoted Catholic, her faith was a quiet but steady foundation in her life, guiding her values of compassion, humility, and love.

Barbara was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Anthony John Edward Sweet. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and steadfast commitment. As a homemaker, Barbara dedicated herself wholeheartedly to caring for her family. She created a home filled with comfort, love and unwavering support.

She is survived by her son, Christopher and Lara, and daughter, Shirley. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to her three grandsons: Arthur Sweet, age 13, who lives in Orange County and shared an especially close bond with her; and Max and Tom, ages 22 and 20, who reside in England. Though they lived far away, Barbara appreciated the times she was able to speak with Max and Tom and enjoyed hearing updates about their lives. Each of her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she followed their lives with pride and deep affection.

Barbara will be remembered for her gentle nature, her sweet smile, and the quiet strength with which she loved and cared for those around her. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured and the kindness she shared so freely.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Funeral Cememony will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the O'Connor Mortuary Chapel in Laguna Hills. It will also be webcast and can be viewed at
