Barbara Ann Szarek, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 30, 2023 at the age of 67. She was born in Maryland on November 22, 1956, to Clara C Strubel and William J Strubel. Barbara's mother,  father and two brothers, James Strubel & William Strubel & wife JoAnn, plus brother in law Paul Krause preceded her in death.
Barbara had a vibrant personality and touched the lives of many with her warm heart and kind spirit. She had a zest for life that was contagious, always finding joy in the simplest moments. Barbara loved dancing and going out with friends. She found immense pleasure in spending time under the sun, soaking up its warmth while creating beautiful memories. In her younger years, she excelled in sports and was particularly skilled at bowling and soccer.
With a strong sense of family, Barbara cherished the relationships she had with her loved ones. She leaves behind her two daughters, Dawn Lasek and Christina DiSalvo. Barbara also leaves behind a sister, Rosemary Krause who she shared a very special bond with through good times and sorrow. She had two grandchildren Sofia and Mario DiSalvo, nieces Denise Fieden and Angela Jones and nephew Michael Strubel.
To honor Barbara's life and commemorate the impact she had on those around her, viewing services will be held on December 6th at Kaczorowski Funeral Home P.A., located at 1201 Dundalk Avenue in Baltimore. The viewing will begin at 4:00 PM and conclude at 8:00 PM. On December 7th, a funeral service will be held at the same location, starting at 11:00 AM and concluding at 11:30 AM.
Barbara will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her kindness, love, and vibrant spirit will forever be remembered and cherished. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
