Barbara Jean "Barbie" Szprejda

Barbara Jean (Ferfecki) Szprejda, age 81, of Pulaski passed away Sunday morning, October 19, 2025, at her home with her eldest daughter holding her hand. Barbara was born on March 15, 1944, to Stanley and Helen (Holtz) Ferfecki at home in Sobieski.

A 1962 graduate of Pulaski High School, she was in the school band where she played the saxophone. Barbie went on to marry Jacob (Jack) Szprejda, Sr. on January 19, 1964, and he was the love of her life. She cared for him and their growing family and loved every minute of it. Barbara spent her working years doing things she loved, from working at the casino to retiring from Carver Boat later on in life. Barbara loved to paint and had a huge love for trolls, gnomes, and cardinals. She liked to play her games on her tablet and watch her shows, like Matlock, with her loving pets, Bella, Emma, and Sampson at her side. They will truly miss her and all her love.

Barbie is survived by her two daughters: Laura (Ric Degroot) Szprejda and Mary Jo (Tony) Boutin; and a son, Jacob (Nanette) Szprejda Jr. She is also survived by her loving sisters: Angeline Schwartzkopf and Linda (Larry) Adasiewicz. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Selina (Dave), Jennifer, Amanda (Ron), Mindi (Chad), Meghan (Brian), Jacob (Janel), Markie (Raelin), Michael, Pamela (Ryan), Tiffany (Mickey), Isaiah, Micah, and Lucas; her great-grandchildren: Grayson, Sandy, Ian, Zenevieve, and Ali. She will also be missed by her special friend and cousin (who was more like a sister), Rosalie (Roy) Dettman; son-in-law, Greg; special friend, SanDee, and many other family members, cousins, and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, brother, Eugene, daughter, Rochele Jaskolski, sons: Scott and Mark; brother-in-law, Bill, and special pets: Gizmo, Preston, Cookie, Pickers, and other beloved pets from throughout the years.

Barbie left this world the same way she came in, giving the world some hell. She wouldn't back down for anything, she stood her ground and spoke up for what she believed in. She had a huge heart, a beautiful soul, and a one-of-a-kind smile.

Friends are invited to gather with Barbie's family at Assumption B.V.M. Cemetery in Pulaski on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm for Committal Services with Fr. Frances Nusi officiating.
