Barbara Thomas, born on January 18, 1937, in French Island, WI, passed away on April 13, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living. She was the daughter of Fred and Ethel (Wise) Stark, growing up among her 12 siblings.
After her father's tragic car accident, the family moved to Winona, MN, where Barbara attended Washington-Kosciusko School. She married Kenneth Victor Thomas and became the loving mother of her daughter, Betty Thomas.
Barbara worked at Fibrite and the Winona Knitting Mills. Her delicious apple bars and homemade dumpling soup were a hit with everyone, as she enjoyed entertaining with card games and watching game shows on the television. Her infectious laugh brought joy to those around her. She attended of St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Winona.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Ann; sisters, Sandy (Clark) Hodges and Norma Lee Olson.
Barb is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Thomas; sisters, Karen Stark, Loretta Stark and Lorraine (Bob) Bambenek; brothers, Manuel, Eugene (Fran), Lloyd (Lucy), Kenneth, Fritz (Dee), Bob (Pat), Merritt (Norma) Stark; brothers-in-law, Leo Carty, and Carlyle Olson.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
