Barbara J. Thomas

Barbara June Thomas, 82, passed away quietly in her sleep at her home in Fredericktown, Ohio on November 18, 2025.
Barbara was born on June 25, 1943 to Robert and Eleanor (Brindise) Thomas in Chicago, Illinois.
Barbara attended school at Saint Alphonsus, in Chicago and enjoyed singing in Mass at Saint Alphonsus Church.
Barbara graduated from Loretta High School in 1961. She held various sales and secretarial positions to put herself through Columbia College to earn a degree in Theater.
Barbara enjoyed acting and performed in many plays in the Chicago area, where she became a close friend to Marilyn Henner.
Barbara worked for P.A.G.E. Transportation of Chicago and was a strong advocate of handicapped access to transportation.
Barbara also held positions at The Tribune, La Salle Bank, Chicago Title and Trust and Anderson Consulting.
Barbara was a life long Elvis Presley fan. She visited Graceland more that 20 times. She enjoyed talking about Elvis and would ask everyone she met if they loved Elvis.
Barbara is survived by her long-time companion of 28 years, Phillip Douglas; siblings Larry Thomas, Stanley Thomas, Timothy Thomas, Hubert Thomas, Francis Chandler and Florence Powers.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Allen Thomas, Robert Thomas, Richard Thomas, Michael Thomas, Carmello Wagner and Mary Thomas.
Barbara was a sweet lady and was loved by everyone she met. She will be missed greatly.
Barbara chose this for her epitaph.
