Funeral services for Ms. Barbara Cumberland Thrash will be held at 3 PM Sunday, March 3, 2024, at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Dwight Faulkenberry and Rev. John E. Stephens officiating. Interment will be in Ocobla Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon Sunday, March 3, 2024, at John E. Stephens Chapel.
Ms. Thrash, 84, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at her home in Philadelphia, MS. She lived most of her life in the Bloomo Community where she was a cattle, poultry, and tree farmer. She was a member of Ocobla Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and VBS Director for many years. She was valedictorian of her class. Her hobbies were spending time with family and attending church.
Ms. Thrash is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Leonard Thrash; parents, D. H. Cumberland and Luna Burton Cumberland; sister, Mazell Hall; brothers, Glynn Cumberland, Infant Ross Cumberland, Darth Cumberland.
Survivors include daughters, Hedda Stewart (Stan), Lisa Alford (Mike); sons, Randy Thrash (Patty), Jimmy D. Thrash; brother, Robert Cumberland (Maria); (8) grandchildren, Micah Stewart (Ashlie), Jessica Ridout (Chad), Heather Chapman (Trey), Matthew Thrash (Mary Kathryn), Mary Paige Thrash, Hannah Marie Thrash, Trinity Victoria Thrash, Jessy Deeanne Thrash; (8) great-grandchildren, Jackson, Bailee, Charleigh, Ava, Piper, Lofton, Wilson, CJ.
Pallbearers: Matthew Thrash, Micah Stewart, Chad Ridout, Trey Chapman, Joey Thrash, Dr. Jeff Cumberland.
