Barbara Tomberlin Obituary
Barbara Ann Tomberlin of Mars Hill, North Carolina, passed August 24, 2023, at the age of seventy. She was born October 19, 1952, to the late Dallas Lee and Chloie Rogers Riddle in Buncombe County, North Carolina. She enjoyed search and word puzzle books.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a niece, Carla Guthrie, and nephew, Doug Hurst; granddaughter, Lilly Rose DeCarlo; sister, Patty Buckner; and brother-in-law, Bobby Raby.
Barbara is survived by her children, Brian Raby (Kellie) of Weaverville, North Carolina, and Daniel Raby (Candice) of Mars Hill; siblings, Joan Raby of Weaverville, June Medford of Rutledge, Georgia, Shirley Davis of Roanoke Rapids, Virginia, Kathy Gosnell of Asheville, North Carolina and Libby Stines (Ed) of Weaverville; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A service will be held at five o'clock the afternoon of September 5, 2023, at Piney Grove Cemetery. Kevin Raby will officiate. Visitation will be prior to the graveside service between three and four o'clock at Mt. Sheba Baptist Church in Weaverville.

Miss Barb holds a very special place in my heart and my family's hearts. The best memory, among many, is the way she would yell for my son to come rescue her from the frogs that would hop onto her sidewalk and her porch! She was one of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever met. It has been an honor knowing, and being friends and neighbors with Barb.
