David George Hunt, 80, of Arden, NC, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Asheville, NC.

David is survived by his partner of 17 years, Barbara Ostenfeld; children, Charlotte Parker (Larry) of Milton, FL Rochelle Holley of Milton, FL; siblings, Bill Hunt of AL, Florene Watkins (Jerry) of Chipley, FL; grandchildren, Madison Leslie (Zakary) of Milton, FL, Tyler Harris (Jennifer) of Jesup, GA, Kristopher Holley, Ira Holley, Brandon Bogard of Birmingham, AL, Hannah Bogard of New York, NY, Chloe Julius of Asheville, NC, Lila Julius of Asheville, NC, Blake Julius of Asheville, NC, Brody Julius of Asheville, NC; great grandchildren, Maela Leslie, Ela Holley, Landon Holley, Lucian Holley, William Holley, Dallas Cotton, Coley Land, and Brantley Holley.

David was a true gentleman and a devoted, doting husband whose greatest joy was his family. His love and loyalty were evident in all he did. He freely offered help to others and often refused any in return, carrying himself with quiet pride and humility.

David served in the U.S. Navy for 26 years, dedicating his life to his country and to those he loved. Even in retirement, he rarely stood still. He filled his days woodworking, quilting, solving puzzles, and happily seeking out anything in need of repair. The twinkle in his eyes was always accompanied by his wry sense of humor, bringing warmth and lightness to everyone around him.

His gentle spirit, steady presence, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
