Barbara Jane Traub

Barbara Jane Traub, 94, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

She was born on January 31, 1932 in Muncie, the daughter of Louis and Uva (Stafford) Voisard and graduated from Muncie Central High School. She married the love of her life, James C. Traub on October 4, 1952 in Muncie at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Jane was a longtime volunteer at Ball Memorial Hospital and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir.

She enjoyed walking and hiking, especially going to the park, playing golf, bowling and going to lunch.

Surviving are eight children, Jimmy (Cheryl), Ronnie (Victoria), Jane (Gordon) Burke, Steve (Brenda), all of Muncie, Elizabeth (Chris) Tausend, Irving, TX, Susan (David) Baney, Summitville, Carolyn (Charlie) Rhoades of Muncie, and Katherine Reyes (fiancé, Paul), Las Vegas, NV; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, with two more on the way; three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Voisard of Houston, TX; one sister, Beverly Falsey of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, James C. Traub on December 25, 2022; sister-in-law, Jeanne Voisard; and brother-in-law, Jim Falsey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 820 E. Charles Street, Muncie. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026.
