Barbara Ann (Moll) Uplinger, a native of Williamsport, PA and resident of Elmira, NY passed away on August 16, 2025. She had just celebrated both her 90th birthday, and her 70th wedding anniversary, an occasion she and her beloved husband Jack celebrated by dancing to “The Anniversary Waltz.” Theirs truly was a love unaltered by time.
Barbara worked as a receptionist for Planned Parenthood for 25 years. She and Jack were generous and active members of their community, dedicating 25 years to meal delivery for Meals on Wheels. They were also very active in church life, joining Bethany Lutheran in the late 1950s and serving in a variety of ways through the decades. Barbara served as church treasurer and also shared her musical gifts by joining the bell choir, and singing in the church choir for 50 years. She and Jack loved ballroom dancing and were jazz aficionados who enjoyed 20 years of attending the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee. She could often be found visiting the geese and ducks at Eldridge Park, or enjoying a cruise around town in her Mustang, also know as "The Little Pony."
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents – Harold and Grace E. (Purcell) Moll, and her parents-in-law - John and Virginia Uplinger, Sr.
She is survived by: her loving husband of 70 years, John R. “Jack” Uplinger, Jr.; her children – Chuck Uplinger and wife Nadine, and Patti Uplinger and partner Eva Mosso; her grandchildren – Pamela Harney and husband Matt, and Andrew Kroh and wife Ritu; and her great-grandchildren – Miles, Milan, and Vandin.
