Barbara Lynn Moran-White, 65 years old, tragically passed away in an automobile collision on Monday, March 27, 2023.
She was born in Gulfport and was a graduate of Harrison Central High School followed by two years at Jeff Davis Jr. College. She was employed as a dental assistant and traveled state to state testing for asbestosis. She loved dancing, traveling and basketball and watching grandchildren in all of their sports activities.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Olige and Edna Moran and a brother, Robert “Gayle” Moran.
She is survived by her husband, Gary White; their children, Robert White (Jamie), Jennifer White (Allan), Laura Banks and 7 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Garland Moran and Perry Moran (Debbie) and her sisters, Glinda Gartman and Sherry Rutland and countless nieces and nephews.
Barbara spent most of her life waiting on just the right man. At her 40th year high school class reunion, she reconnected with the man who would become the love of her life and her husband, Gary. Her three brothers graciously gave her away to him in September of 2015. Even though she never had any children of her own, she loved Gary’s children and grandchildren as if they were her own.
Barbara never met a stranger. She was a social butterfly. She loved to travel and ride in that big rig with Gary, see new places and meet new people. She loved reconnecting people with each other. She could throw a party together in a minute’s notice. She loved to dance and go to the dance halls in Brandon, MS or the Kiln, MS to dance and watch her husband and their dear friends play country music. She was the life of the party, and anytime you saw her, she had a smile on her face.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Church, 23529 Highway 53 in Lizana, MS at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in Finley Cemetery.
