Barbara Williams Obituary

Barbara Fagan Williams

February 25, 1944 - December 18, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Barbara Fagan Williams, 81, on December 18, 2025.

Born February 25, 1944, Barbara was the beloved wife of Randal J. Williams, M.D., and a devoted mother to Kimberly Neumann (Jon), Keith H. Williams (Michele), Kristin Blake (Gary), and Kelly Williams. She was a proud grandmother to Hannah Meyer (Christian) and Tess Neumann; Jake and Owen Williams, and Gavin, Evelyn, and Emerson Blake; and a loving great-grandmother to Baker and Matilda (Tilly Jo) Meyer. She is also survived by her brother, Robert D. Fagan (Kathy); sister, Beverly Lemieux (Greg); brothers-in-law, Todd Williams (Suzanne) and Barry Isaacs; sisters-in-law, Dana Angel (Gene) and Terri Kania (Mitch); and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara attended Stetson University and devoted much of her life to community service. She held numerous leadership and volunteer roles throughout Catawba County in education, the arts, children's advocacy, and other charitable organizations. In 2014, Barbara was named United Way Volunteer of the Year. She was also a board member of the Catawba County Association of the Blind for 45 years, reflecting her long-standing dedication to service. Barbara was a faithful member of the Church of the Ascension, where she served on the Altar Guild and Outreach Committee and was very involved in the church's pen pal program.

Barbara was a loyal friend to many and cherished her lifelong friendships. She will be remembered for her love of horses, flower arranging, and gardening. Above all, she will be remembered for the deep joy she found in and the love she had for her family, who were always at the center of her life.

The family extends a special thank you to her devoted caregivers, Sharon Smith, Sandy Hayes, Oksana Sinikova, Madison Good, Janet McCall, and Stephanie Bowen, whose compassion and care allowed Barbara to enjoy the best possible quality of life in her final years.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or a charity of your choice.

The family will announce service details in the coming weeks.
