Barbara Nell Woods

Barbara Nell Woods, 77, of Walnut Ridge, passed from this life on Friday, December 26, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born on December 16, 1948, in Walnut Ridge to the late Oscar Floyd and Thirsa (Brightwell) Stovall. She was a member of the Imboden Church of Christ, later becoming a member of the Main St. Church of Christ in Walnut Ridge. She was employed at the Ozark Journal and Citizens Bank in Imboden during her life. Barbara enjoyed watching sports, scrapbooking, and working in her yard.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Woods, of fifty-five years; her brother, Dale Stovall Sr., and infant sister, Ava Jean Stovall.

She is survived by her children, Terrie Ponder of Imboden, Amanda Haynes (Jerry) of Walnut Ridge, and Nathan Woods (Michelle) of Ravenden; special nephew, Dale Stovall Jr. (Stephanie) of Texas; grandchildren, Katie Ponder, Mary Fry, Patrick Ponder (Violet), Jordan Haynes (Anna), Tyler Woods (Arleigh), and Hayden Woods; great-grandchildren, Briar Fry, Jed Haynes, Paxten Woods, Piper Woods, Pacen Woods, and Waylon Woods.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Imboden Church of Christ, with funeral services immediately following at 2 p.m. Gevan Murphy will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hope Cemetery in Imboden under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bobby Powell, Bill Powell, Aaron Murphy, John Farmer Sr., Terry Dickson, and Chris Jones.
