Barbara Wright Obituary
Barbara Ann Wright, age 86, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Barbara was born on June 9, 1937 to her parents the late Thomas Chaffins and Nola Stacey Chaffins. She was the wife of the late Jackie Wright, a homemaker, and a former employee at Borden's Ice Cream in Chicago, and a member of the Dorton Methodist Church.
Along with her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Barbara is survived by one daughter, Cheryl (Thomas) Donahue, two sons, Richard (Lesa) Wright, Glen (Cristina) Wright, one sister, Mary Eaton, two brothers, Thomas Chaffins, Anthony Chaffins, six grandchildren, Blaze Adkins, Dylan Adkins, Melanie Brafford, Devin Shines, Logan Wright, Kristy McCoy, seven great grandchildren, Carter, Braxton, Emmanuel, Iris, Vera, Lauryn, Sawyer, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, January 26, 2024 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Johnny Vanover and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Wright Cemetery at Dorton.
