Barbara L. "Crazy Granny" Wright, age 89 of Sunbury went home to be with our Lord and Savior while surrounded by her loving family Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2026 from St. Ann's Hospital.

She was born on March 13, 1936 to the late Albert J. and Helen E. (Cochren) Shade whom she has joined along with her husband Clyde E. "Kice" Wright and her brother Albert "Al" Shade, survived by her children: Kimberly (John) Burrer of Sunbury, Philip ( Lisa) Holdren of Prospect, and Scott (Grethe) Holdren of Ostrander, 7 grandchildren: Kristy (Matt) Low, Brandon (Jessica) Mann, Andrew Holdren, Brittany (David) Yost, Brooke (Ryan) Weimer, Jordan Holdren, McKayla (Justin) Reuters, 11 great grandchildren, niece: Lori, nephew: Jack, and special friends: Carol Wheaton, Phyllis Harmony, Dr. Francine Giannetto, and William and Carolyn Weaver.

She will be remembered for Her faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ sharing His gospel and His love with family, friends and all whom she met. She and Clyde enjoyed dancing for many years. She loved caring for and showing her horses, winning the Morgan Horse Association's top prize of Gold Cup with High Meadows Blue Mist.

She came to have a deep appreciation and love for our veterans. She and Clyde built the Ohio Vietnam Memorial, traveling to every county in Ohio and to Rolling Thunder in Washington D.C.. She worked with Vietnam veterans in Ohio's correctional facilities becoming a full time employee. She then felt a calling to continue her career with juveniles at TICO juvenile correction facility, loving and helping them.

Barbara is an amazing and caring woman known for her sense of humor, always making those around her laugh, touching countless lives with her tender heart and her love for the Lord.
