Robert Burton "Bob" Hill

Robert "Bob" Burton Hill, age 81, of Westerville, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at St. Ann's Hospital following an extended illness. He was born on July 23, 1944, in Ironton, Ohio, the son of the late Horace N. Hill and Margaret E. Hill.
Bob graduated from Linden-McKinley High School and then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. On March 18, 1966, he married Barbara Mills at the Linden Baptist Church. Together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.
Bob was an avid woodworker who created many beautiful pieces of furniture. He enjoyed model railroading, playing golf, and gardening. Bob was a member of York Lodge No. 563 and worked at The Columbus Dispatch for 43 years, where he formed many friendships. Bob was a good, hardworking man whose proudest achievement were his children and grandchildren. He was honest, kind and will always be remembered and missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Barbara Hill; children, Christa (Kevin) Jones and Robert Ryan (Melissa) Hill; grandchildren, Matthew and Katelyn Jones & Lauren Hill.
Friends may call on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074. Graveside Services will take place the following day, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at Sunbury Memorial Park, Sunbury, Ohio. Celebrant Tom Dea'Therage officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital and the Genoa Township EMT for the care they provided to Bob.
