Barbara Wright, 87, of Mount Vernon, IL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at 1:53 pm November 28, 2025 at her home in Mount Vernon, IL. She was born October 31, 1938 in Jefferson County to Gleason "Shorty" and Maybelle Bean. Barbara married William Wright on October 11, 1958 in Mount Vernon, IL.
Barbara is survived by her Childeren, Angel Williams, William Val (Sharon) Wright and Monica (Scott) Maxey; 13 Grandchildren, Rachel (Brian) Edmison, Robert (Amanda) Green, Larissa (Jon) Davis, Randi (Ethan) Schurtz, Damon Patrick Wright, Emma Maxey, Lee (Kelley) Curd, Karman (Josh) Nagy, Jasmine (Andrew) Ross, Jared (Christa) Wright, Aaron (and wife) Wright, Jeremiah (Cassie) Wright and Adriel (Shanna) Wright; Great Grandchildren, Alyssa (Brandon McPherson) Dudley, Chloe Swan, Zain Swan, Alexandar Williams, William Patrick Green, Lucille Lee Ann Green, Elodie Davis, Layla Schutz, Brandon (Kiaya) Curd, Korena (Joe) Southall, Oakley Nagy, Spencer Nagy, Skyelyn Wright, Ely Wright, Emma Wright, Luka Wright, Brtookelynn Wright, Branson Wright and Brayleigh; Great Great Granddaughters, Ayla Rivera, Motley Curd, and Alice Curd.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Gleason "Shorty" and Maybelle Bean; Her loving husband, William Wright; Son, Patrick Gleason Wright; Granddaughter, Allyson Piper; Brothers, Hank Bean, Mike Bean and 1 nephew (son of Hank Bean).
She worked for a dentist, Blue Goose and Final Job Laundry at 24th and Perkins. Barbara was the Rock of the family the glue that kept the family together. She gave everything and took very little for herself. Faithful wife, wonderful mother and perfect grandmother.
Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 6, 2025 from 1 to 4 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
