Barbara Ann (Reisch) Yager, 84, of Dubuque, died Monday, February 16, 2026 at Luther Manor in Dubuque.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:15 pm Friday, February 20, 2026 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory.

The Funeral Service for Barb will be at 4:30 pm at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory with Sister Margaret Ann Kramer PBVM officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo, IL on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 10:30 am.

Barbara was born January 30, 1942, in Dubuque, IA, the oldest of six children, to Louie and Kay Reisch. She grew up attending St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy. She received her teaching degree from Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, IA, and taught for several years. On November 13, 1971, she married Charles William "Bill" Yager in Dubuque. They were married for 48 years. He passed away on August 23, 2020.

Barb's faith quietly shaped the way she lived and cared for others. She shared her time by volunteering with Vacation Bible School and leading a Brownie troop for the Girl Scouts. She took great pride in her role as a homemaker and was a loving and devoted mother to her daughters. Barb found contentment in life's simple pleasures - riding her bike, doting on their dog (or granddogs), watching Westerns, tending her garden, playing games, and baking for those she cared about. Time spent with her family brought her the greatest happiness.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sarah (Brad) Van Zee of Farmington, MO, and Stephanie Yager of Dubuque; one grandson, Elias Van Zee; three sisters, Ann (Gary) Kruse of Dubuque, Kathy (Al) Krambeer of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Karen (Don) Frost of Toddville, IA; one brother, Bob (Shirley) Reisch of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Lisa, who died at birth, one grandson, Arie Van Zee, one sister, Sue (Clete) Tebbe, and her Godson, Todd Tebbe.

Memorials have been established for the Alzheimer's Association and Hospice of Dubuque.

Barb's family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Luther Manor and Hospice of Dubuque for their fine care of their mother.
