Barbara J. Young

Barbara Jean Young, age 65, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024. Born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 21, 1959, Barbara was the beloved daughter of Gilbert and Janet Hensley, who preceded her in death. She was also reunited in eternal peace with her husband, James Young and her son, Christopher Young.

Barbara's greatest pride and joy in life came from her family, to whom she gave boundless love and devotion. She is survived by her sons, Joe (Penny) Young and Dan (Amy) Young; her daughter-in-law, Sombath; and a large, adoring family of grandchildren: Lauren, Kyle, Hunter (Lauren), Danielle, Haley, Chrisilin, Kaleb, Luke, Payton, Maley, Kaden, Logan, Mason, Lily, Rainsey, and Christlyn. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her two great-grandchildren. Barbara also leaves behind her siblings: Kathy (Chris), Mike (Kim), Mark, and James (Chris), as well as numerous extended family members and cherished friends who will deeply miss her.

A dedicated and hardworking employee, Barbara spent many years serving as a trusted member of the Kroger Pharmacy team. Her commitment to her work was unwavering, just as it was to her family. She never missed a grandchild’s ballgame, always showing up to cheer them on, no matter the distance or the weather.

A woman of deep loyalty and passion, Barbara was also a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Bengals. Her enthusiasm for the team was infectious, and she treasured every game day shared with loved ones.

A gathering with family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Newcomer Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Memorial service will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
