Barb Zachariasen, age 58, of Brandon, South Dakota, died on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
A private family graveside service will take place at the Bon Homme Cemetery in Springfield, South Dakota at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.
Barbara Ellen Zachariasen was born November 8, 1965 in Yankton, South Dakota to Jerome and Patricia (Herman) Zachariasen. She grew up in Yankton where she graduated from Yankton High School. Barb then attended Mount Marty University in Yankton for one year and graduated from Dakota State University in Madison, SD. In 2009, Barb received her Master’s Degree in Information Security. She worked most of her life in the banking industry protecting sensitive banking information and was last employed at First Premier Bank Card in Sioux Falls.
Barb loved baking and cooking. She enjoyed gardening and working with her flowers. She especially loved her roses. Barb also enjoyed knitting and made many different items for her family.
Barb is survived by her mother, Pat Zachariasen of Yankton; fiancé, Darrin Haak of Brandon, SD; two children: Sevrin Zachariasen-Haak of Brandon and Karena Damm (Adam) of Brookings, SD; three grandchildren: Saphira, Asher and Leilani; brother, Nick (Rose) Zachariasen of Sioux Falls and their child, Xander.
Barb was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Zachariasen.
