It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald D. Johnson, 76, of Vermillion, who passed away at home on March 26, surrounded by his loving family.

Ronnie was born on April 4, 1949, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Delmar “Bud” and Vera (Mayer) Johnson. He spent his early childhood in Wakonda before moving with his family to Salt Lake City for a short time, eventually settling in Vermillion, where he made his home for most of his life.

Ronnie married the love of his life, Terri Brose, in Vermillion, where they raised their three children and shared many years making memories together. Although they later divorced, they remained close friends until Terri’s passing in 2021.

Ronnie had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in fishing, boating, camping, and, most of all, spending time with his family.

Before retiring, Ronnie dedicated nearly twenty years to Midwest Mobile Homes in Vermillion, where he was known for his hard work, reliability, and commitment.

He is lovingly remembered by his three children: Shannon (Jeannie) Johnson, Tanya Johnson, and Justin (Amy) Johnson; his seven grandchildren: Cole (Taray) Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Trevor Johnson, Trent (Kelly) Johnson, Bryce (Brooklyn) Johnson, Braydon Johnson, Jase Johnson, Simon Johnson, Sierra (Erik) Johnson, and Justin Guthmiller; six great-grandchildren; his siblings Cheryl Seney, Gary (Julie) Johnson, Greg (Lisa) Johnson, and Jan Carlisle; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Vera Johnson; his wife, Terri Brose; his brother, Mike Johnson; brothers-in-law David Seney and Carl Carlisle; his great-nephew, Dustin Seney; and his grandson, Dexter Johnson.

Cremation has taken place. The family plans to celebrate Ronnie’s life outdoors this summer, honoring the way he loved to spend his time.
