Bardene “Bart” Larson, 85, of Hoffman, MN, died on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.
Bardene Cellan was born on July 21, 1940, the son of Harold and Edna (Buckenburger) Larson. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith. After school, Bart enlisted in the US Army where he worked in Auto Maintenance and received a Sharp Shooter Medal before being honorably discharged.
On August 3, 1963, he married Nancy Faye Ziegelman at Maplewood Lutheran Church in North St. Paul. To this union came three children, Terry, Jeffrey and Kristie.
Bart worked at Newport Cold Storage in Newport, MN and was part of the Teamster 503 Union. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Bart enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycle, playing pull tabs and travelling. Some of his notable adventures include winters in Texas, trips to Arizona and the Grand Cayman Islands. His outdoor spirit led him to many Canadian fishing trips and Montana deer hunts in his younger years.
Bart is survived by his wife, Nancy Larson of Hoffman, MN; children, Terry (Le) Larson of Kensington, MN and Kristie (Tim) Westphal of Grantsburg, WI; sisters, Arlis (Art) Fritz of Crooks, SD and RoxAnn Hulleman of Surprise, AZ; five grandchildren, Alysha, Janelle, Edwin, Migdalia and Derreck; seven great grandchildren, Cameron, Ashlynn, Melanie, Elio, Evelyn, Anthony and Adrian, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Edna Larson; a son, Jeffrey Larson and a sister, Linda Smith.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Hoffman with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
Military Honors: Army Honor Guard
Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery, South St. Paul, MN
