He was born in Derry, New Hampshire to the late Roberta Child Leighton and Barrie Walton Leighton of Hayesville, NC. Barrie enjoyed spending time with his family and also spending time at the beach surfing. He was an excellent finishing carpenter.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert John Leighton and Brett Everett Leighton.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his sister, Beverly Burns (Raymond Stuart) of Saint Petersburg, Fl; and four nephews, Stuart Leighton Burns, Kelsey Robert Burns, Braylen Everett Leighton and Bennett Henry Leighton.
No services are planned.
