Barry S. Backscheider, a devoted family man and a respected member of his community, passed away on March 13, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio at the age of 60. Born on July 25, 1964, Barry spent his life in the city he cherished, where he was known for his hard work and unwavering loyalty during his 39-year tenure at BPI.
Barry's education began at St. Dominic Elementary School, followed by his graduation from Elder High School. These formative years set the stage for a life characterized by dedication and commitment, values that he carried into his personal and professional endeavors.
As a husband to Kim Backscheider (nee Anderson), Barry exemplified love and partnership, supporting his wife through life's journeys. He was a proud father to Crystal (Matthew) Backscheider and Clinton Backscheider, embracing his role with all of his heart. Barry took immense pride in his family, often noting that loving them was his greatest accomplishment. He was also a loving brother to Bonni (Rick) Weber, Bob (Julie) Backscheider, and Barb (Jim) Cornett, fostering deep connections with his siblings throughout his life.
An avid sports fan, Barry passionately supported his favorite Cincinnati teams, including the Reds, Bengals, and FC Cincinnati. His enthusiasm for sports was matched only by his joyful hobbies, which included gardening—where he truly had a green thumb—camping, and enjoying bonfires with loved ones. Often seen grilling for his family and friends, Barry created memorable moments that reflect his caring and dedicated personality.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Backscheider, who instilled in him the values of hard work and care for others that defined his character.
