Funeral Services for Barry Benjamin Brackin, 78, of Faunsdale will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. from the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Sumterville with Shawn Hall officiating. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery in Emelle.

Barry Benjamin Brackin, affectionately known as Daddy B, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his cherished family. Born on July 8, 1947, in York, he was the son of Julian Byron "J.B." Brackin and Willie Lee Aiken Brackin. Throughout his life, Barry took on various roles. He was a merchant, owning and operating A & B Mercantile, and he also owned his own real estate company. As a real estate broker and land appraiser, he specialized in farmland, and he was a self-employed cattle and catfish farmer. Barry was a proud Vietnam Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a highly awarded Toastmaster. For many years, he dedicated himself to Uniontown United Methodist Church, serving as a church leader and Sunday school teacher. With a heart for helping others, he found immense joy in supporting those around him. His family, especially his grandchildren, were his greatest treasures. Barry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is best remembered as a man who cherished God, family, and country. His presence will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Eugenia Smith "Macky" Brackin of Faunsdale; daughter, Eugenia Lee "Genie" Brackin Kish and husband, Richard Dean Kish of Faunsdale; daughter, Sarah Katherine "Katy" Brackin Zell and husband, Christopher William Zell of Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren, Mary Katherine Kish Fitzhugh and husband, Jonathon Edward Fitzhugh of Demopolis, Benjamin Rollin Kish of Faunsdale, U.S. Army 2nd LT. Sera Eugenia Zell Walton and husband, U.S. Army 2nd LT. Joshua Tyler Walton of El Paso, Texas, Christian Brackin Zell of Columbia, South Carolina, and Lily Kaitlyn Zell of Columbia, South Carolina; great- grandson, Edward Barry Fitzhugh of Demopolis; brother, J.B. "Buddy" Brackin, Jr. and wife, Donna of Montrose, Alabama; and numerous other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, J.B. Brackin; mother, Willie Lee Aiken Brackin; and sister, Judy Brackin Herford.

Pallbearers include Bill Rauls, Allen Smith, Jason Smith, Charles Polk, Chance Brannen, Tracey Aldrich, William Kroeger, and Ricky Cobble.

The family would like to invite family and friends to join them immediately following the service at the Sumterville Community House for lunch and a time of sharing memories.
