Barry Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes - Jennings-Lyons Chapel - Owosso on Mar. 9, 2026.
Barry J Clark, aged 66 of Owosso, Michigan, passed away on March 8th following a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Watkin Brothers Funeral Home, 520 W. Main St. Owosso, Pastor Tom Rundel officiating. Visitations will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, from 2:00-8:00 pm and Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Barry requested that everyone dress in casual attire.

Barry was born August 21st, 1959, in Owosso to Ronnie and Ruthann (Anderson) Clark. The eldest of six, he was a veritable jokester, storyteller, and all-around charismatic guy. While he possessed a quick temper, he had an even quicker wit and was always ready for a social gathering or shenanigans. If ever there was an opportunity to share a joke or a personal tale, he was sure to take it, even if not always appropriate. Though he became a homebody in his later years he still enjoyed most occasions to be the center of attention.

A man of many interests, he enjoyed watching college football (Wisconsin Badgers being his favorite), golf, racing, an open variety of music, working outdoors, or nearly any hobby that involved working with your hands or tools. An avid animal lover, his greatest joy was his family and the pets that were a part of it.

Possessing many skills, he was always willing to help - even if not qualified. His talents included carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, automotive repair, auto body, small engine repair, and a unique artistic approach. His biggest talent and requested memory was making people laugh and smile, even if at his expense.

He worked a variety of jobs over his life that shaped his character, including positions at Jonesboy Painting, Harrands Grocery, Shell gas station, Shiawassee Manufacturing, B&K Disposal, Petrolane, Empire, Hess Heating & Cooling, T.S. Mobile Home Service, and Crest Pontoons before experiencing an unplanned early retirement. This was short lived however, as keeping busy was more his style. He took on a host of odd jobs helping friends and family for the remainder of his life.

Left to cherish his memory and carry on his stories are his true love, Sheila, of nearly 43 years; children Ryan(Kelli Fanning), Melissa(Colin Johnson), and Anthony; siblings Shellie(Doug) Edwards-VanderPloeg, Jennifer(Roy) Charvat, and Allan(Beth) Clark; sisters-in-law; Lauri Clark, Louise Gewirtz, Lois Mead, Carole Koan, Mary McPhilimy, and Anna (Steve) Anderson; brothers-in-law; Edward Gewirtz, Robert (Kim) Gewirtz, and Bruce Gewirtz; many nieces and nephews; dogs Bree and Ted, cats Bell and Little Man; grand pets Scarlet and Azura.

Joining him for drinks in the great beyond are his parents Ron and Ruthann, his brothers Cary and Joel, nephew Aaron, and many beloved pets from over the years.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for later use.
