I dreamed about you recently and it made me remember how much I adored you all those years ago. I was heartbroken to hear about your passing. Thank you for the music and for making this girl's dream come true when I got to meet you. I will never forget you, Barry.

I feel so privileged to have come to know Barry in the years he was living with his wife, Deborah Scott Cowsill, (now a resident of Monterey) in Pacific Grove and Carmel, thru the birth of his children Keira and Collin Cowsill. It was wonderful having him here on the Peninsula to entertain us for the many years that he did, and will always treasure the great family times my husband and I spent with Barry and Deb, getting all our children together for playdates, attending events, sharing meals, etc. He was a true friend of the highest caliber.

Who would have ever thought the teenage heart throb would have left this world along with too much of the spirit of the former New Orleans.
I saw the Cowills in 1970. I kissed Barry on the cheek and being 13 I was happy for a long time with that. I even made you a beautiful little clown rag doll and mailed it to you.
And to think that later we would both fall in love with New Orleans. The whole story of your life and death is a bit surreal.
I will think of you Barry everytime I look at the Mighty River you are now a part of.
May you be surrounded in peace eternally.
And
I won't be suprised if I see you now and then walking the streets of the Quarter of the Haunted old Crescent City. Or maybe I'll hear you singing about seeing her in the Rain.
A fan from a long, long time ago

My wife and I saw Barry perform a few years back at one of the amazing Continental Drifters shows during Jazzfest at the Howlin'Wolf . The songs he sang really moved us and we got the chance to tell him so later that night .This is what I'll remember about him.
