Barry Horowitz Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 22, 2025.
Barry Louis Horowitz, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born in Morristown, New Jersey, Barry carried the spirit of curiosity and determination that would define his life. He spent most of his adult years in Texas, where he built not only a career but a legacy of compassion, service, and excellence. As a neuroradiologist, Barry was deeply devoted to the practice of medicine. He approached his work with extraordinary skill and a profound belief in helping people. His patients, colleagues, and students felt his passion. He never stopped learning, teaching, or caring.
Outside of medicine, Barry's great love was cars, especially Porsches. He found joy in the precision, the beauty, and the engineering. An extension of the same meticulous, thoughtful mind that made him such a respected physician. Barry also had an affinity with dogs. He had an incredible ability to connect with any dog he met. It was always unclear who it made happier, the dog or him. Talking about cars, driving them, caring for them, being with his dogs, these were some of his happiest moments.
Above all, Barry's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diana, his daughters Lara and Tanya, and his son-in-law Jerome, and his granddaughters Madelyn and Emily, who all brought him immeasurable joy.
Barry will be remembered for his sharp intellect, dry humor, generous heart, and unwavering love for the people he held close. His presence will be deeply missed, but his influence, warmth, and stories will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
Say not in grief 'he is no more' but in thankfulness that he was. - Hebrew Proverb.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made in Barry's honor to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Foundation, tax ID 52-2396428.
