William Barry Key, 60, transitioned to his heavenly life on August 8, 2025 after a long illness. Barry was born on March 30, 1965, in Jacksonville, Florida and moved to North Carolina more than fifty years ago. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Key, who resides in the home. Barry has four siblings, Kenny, Michael, Toni Gail, and Cindy Hassan, two step-daughters, Ellen Elliott and Tess Elliott (deceased), a granddaughter, Cherish Clemmer (Brent Miller), and a great-grandson, Xander, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Barry lived the majority of his life in High Point, North Carolina where he worked at Davis Furniture for many years, and later at High Point Hospital in the mechanical engineering department. He married Elaine Key in 1992, with whom he shared a loving, devoted life for more than three decades. For many years, Barry attended Wesley Memorial Church and his friendships continued to be very special to him.

Barry Key was a precious soul who loved his friends and family deeply. His kind and generous nature will be remembered by all those who knew him. Barry also was an incredibly gifted and creative designer. His ornate handiwork allowed him to convert the simplest items into stunning masterpieces, and to create window dressings and furniture that transformed otherwise mundane rooms into unique and glamorous works of art. Barry will be greatly missed by the many people who knew and loved him, and his creative talent will continue to inspire those touched by his life.

A gathering of friends and family will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Barry Key to Hospice of High Point at 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
