Barry Lacey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeBaptiste Funeral Homes, Inc. - West Chester on Jan. 8, 2024.
Barry Steven Lacey, Sr. was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. Born in Pottstown on May 20th, 1965 to the late Diane Faye (Hipple) Lacey and the late Richard Lacey, Sr., Barry's life journey came to an end on January 4th, 2024. Barry leaves behind a legacy of love through his devoted wife Monica Jean Charles-Lacey; cherished children Barry (Boomer) Steven Richard Lacey, Jr. (Kristina), Emmanuel (Pop) Steven Lacey, Fredrick (Freddy) Steven Lacey, Takeera (Newt) Danae Bell (Jeffery), Sharde' (Shar) Domnique Moore, Josiah (Jo Jo) Jean Lacey; bonus children Alexis Pettis and Joey DiGiacomo; adored grandchildren Michael Christopher Ford Jr., Mykell Chrishon Ford, Laila Cook, Mikayla (Moo)Cook, Cali Moore; loving siblings the late Theresa Lacey, Denise Lacey, Lynette Lacey, Mary Wilson (Michael), Gerald Lacey (Deidre), Richard Lacey, Amanda Harvey; adoring in-laws Karen Harvey and the late Fredrick Harvey; treasured pets Buddy, Champ, and Dex Lacey; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Throughout his life in the Pottstown School District K-12 education system and later working in construction since graduating high school - most recently employed as a Forman at JJD Excavating - Barry made lasting impressions with everyone he met. His passion for cooking brought joy to countless hearts while feeding others became one of his greatest pleasures. An avid outdoorsman at heart, Barry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time around nature. His dedication to pleasing his wife Monica knew no bounds, and together they shared a deep bond that inspired those around them. As a Dallas Cowboys Die Hard Fan, a member of the Cowboys club with Shalonda Charles, and watching all his kids play sports as their #1 fan, you could always find him cheering from the sidelines or discussing game highlights over dinner at the table he built himself. One of Barry's favorite pastimes included playing Left Right Center (LRC), where he would engage in friendly competition while creating unforgettable memories with loved ones. Barry will be remembered for these moments filled with laughter, camaraderie, and genuine connection. The loss of this remarkable man has left an unfillable void within our hearts, but we take solace knowing that he is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before him including his parents, sister, father-in-law, close friends Freddy Nixon, Presley Hamlett, Robert Ziegler, Tracey Gibbs, and other departed relatives. Rest peacefully, Barry, your memory will forever live on through those whose lives you've touched.
