Barry Langston Obituary
A funeral service for Barry "Motto" Eugene Langston, 78, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, TX 76033. Interment will follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home on Friday, January 16, 2026. .
Barry "Motto" Eugene Langston, born on May 26, 1947, in Cleburne, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. His journey through life was marked by a profound passion for sports, particularly football, hunting, softball, golf, and boxing. Barry was not just an aficionado of these pastimes; he truly embraced the joy they brought, sharing those moments with friends and family alike.
His professional life began when he joined the Santa Fe Railroad in 1971, a decision that would guide his career until his retirement. His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family, with whom he cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories. An enthusiastic companion, he relished times spent drinking beer and baseball tournaments with Steve Hall, who he considered a brother. This bond exemplified the strength of his friendships and the warmth of his character.
Barry is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Henry Langston and Ivy Lorraine Tucker; brothers, Fred Langston, Bobby Langston, sisters, Lou Baker, Peggy Coburn, Lorraine Alexander, and Billie Shaw.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Langston and wife Monica, and Barry Keith Langston and wife Kim, seven granddaughters, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Barry will be remembered as a loving individual whose zest for life was evident in all he pursued. His legacy of love for family and friends will continue to resonate, reminding those he touched of the importance of connection and laughter. As we reflect on his life, we celebrate the joy he brought to so many, and the countless memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
