Barry Lockett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The House of Day Funeral Service, Inc. on Jul. 2, 2024.
Barry Glenn Lockett Sr. was born on May 9, 1958, to the union of Patrick and Yvonne Lockett in Augusta, Georgia. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He attended school here in Toledo at Jessup W. Scott High School and graduated in 1976. He graduated from Trucking and Culinary School. He worked at various businesses: General Motors, Toledo Hospital, ABC Medical Supplies, and Bax Global. He accepted Christ and was baptized. Barry enjoyed attending Church on Sundays alongside his mother, where they could share quality time together.
Barry fell in love with Jacqueline, becoming one in marriage. Jackie remained his best friend until his passing. Barry loved riding motorcycles, and his 10-speed bike. His favorite teams were the New Orleans Saints and Michigan Wolverines. He loved fishing, cooking, shooting pool, playing cards, throwing bones, darts, and dice, especially with his best friend, 'Baby' Mike Jackson, 'Downtown' Fred Brown, and Lorenzo 'Renny' Buckingham. He also enjoyed walking his furry friend, his Rottweiler 'Denzel'. Barry loved to dress. He loved life. He loved family.
Barry was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, mother, Yvonne F. Smith-Lockett, several aunts and uncles, and grandson Antoine L. Lockett Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his father Patrick Lockett, brothers Michael (Ann) Lockett, and Christopher (Zaneta) Lockett, Evette Mitchell, and Jacqueline Price-Lockett, sons Antoine L. (Patricia) Lockett Sr., Barry G. (Asia) Lockett Jr., Daryl Price, Derick Price, and Edward Price, grandchildren Nautica Lockett, Tania Lockett, Ahmir Lockett, Adam Latimer, Alexis Watkins, great-grandchildren Carmelo, Antoine, Myla, and Athena, Aunts Nancy Glover and Mary Simmons, Uncles Ezekiel (Margo) Smith, Otis (Michelle) Smith and David (Fran) Smith, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
