Barry Mayall, 81, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Born on January 2, 1944, in Philadelphia, Barry was the son of the late Gordon and Jennie (Wunder) Mayall. He was a proud graduate of Roxborough High School and dedicated much of his life to serving his community. Barry began his career as a firefighter with the City of Philadelphia, where he served for 30 years, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the people he served.

In addition to his firefighting career, Barry had a deep passion for music, especially the sounds of the 50s and 60s. He became well-known in the Philadelphia area as a DJ, sharing his love of music with others. After retiring to Delaware, Barry's talents extended into fixing and repairing golf carts, earning him the affectionate title of "Golfcart Guy" in the local community. His knack for problem-solving and his warm personality made him a beloved figure in Long Neck.

Barry also cherished the simple pleasures of life, from watching sports to spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren on their golfcart rides. He started a weekly poker night at the Lakeside Community Center, where friends gathered for good times. Barry will be fondly remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, and devotion to his loved ones.

Barry was preceded in death by his three siblings: Gordon Mayall, LaRaine Cannon, and Clara Antonucci. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Bernadine (Flaherty) Mayall; six children, Deneen Mallon, Kimberly Miller, Michael Rampone, Barry Mayall, Christopher Mayall, and Brian Mayall; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Arrangements for services are being made and will be announced.
