Mr. Barry Lee Oiler, 81, of Jonesborough, TN passed away at his residence on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Mr. Oiler was born on August 7, 1944 in Washington DC, to the late Harry and Mary Llewellyn Oiler.

Mr. Oiler was a graduate of Canton South High School, Canton, Ohio. He was a member of the Army National Guard for six years. He was stationed at Fort Knox, KY as an armored crewman.
He retired as a lineman supervisor with AEP Ohio after thirty seven years of service.

In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle with his wife. They also enjoyed traveling to Florida during the winter in their RV. He possessed a remarkable talent for repairing things with ingenuity. In his later years, he found joy in tinkering with countless building projects. Whenever something broke, chances were he could repair it.

He was a man of few words but had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife of fifty eight years, Sandra Oiler. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Susan Oiler, Dayton OH and David and Lois Oiler, Jonesborough, TN. Grandchildren: Shane Oiler, and fiancé, Micaela Watts, Staysha Oiler and husband Kyle Lamberth, Shanna Oiler-Deters, and husband David Deters, Annika Carrier and husband Josiah Carrier, Makenna Wilkins and husband Garrett Wilkins. Great grandchildren: Rowan Oiler, Micah Deters, Adelia Deters, Levi Deters, Seren Oiler, and Keano Lamberth.

A celebration of life will be held at First Christian Church, 200 E. Mountcastle Dr., Johnson City, TN on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 6pm. For those wishing to visit the family, please stay after the service.

Flowers can be sent to the Oiler residence at 4 Teague Ct., Jonesborough, TN 37659. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Cannonball fund at First Christian Church, Johnson City, TN, in memory of Barry Oiler.
