Mr. Barry Lee Riddle, 64 of Lansing, NC, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Mr. Riddle was born September 26, 1959 in Iredell County the son of Lee Riddle and Evelyn (Dewight) Edwards. He was a graduate of North Iredell High School, worked with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Department for more than 10 years and was employed at Lowe’s Distribution in Olin, NC until he was unable to work due to health issues. He was an avid year-round hunter, enjoyed his Dodge Challenger (signed by the King-Richard Petty), spending time with his K-9 girl, Zena, and he especially loved and cherished his wife, children, parents and other family.
In addition to his parents, Barry is survived by his wife Lynn Staples Riddle, his children, Ben Riddle, Jeffrey (Sarah) Safley, Jessica (Kevin Sharpe) Safley, Jeana Phelps, brother Kenneth (Amanda) Riddle, sister Vickie (Jeff) Mecimore, grandchildren, Jalyn Safley, Sophia Safley, Hunter Safley, Kevin Sharpe III, his nieces and nephews, and a host of beloved friends.
Barry was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Safley.
The family will greet friends from 1:00-3:00pm on Monday, July 29, 2024 in the Life Center at Harmony Baptist Church, 135 Little Wilkesboro Rd, Harmony, NC 28634. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow the funeral at Harmony City Cemetery, 110 City Cemetery Loop, Harmony, NC 28634.
