Barry E. Sanders, 63, of Lancaster passed away peacefully on Thursday September 4, 2025 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia after a courageous battle with melanoma cancer. Born in Lancaster, Barry was the son of the late Robert J and Patricia E (Mentzer) Sanders.
Barry graduated from J. P. McCaskey high school and worked in the food service industry his entire life since High School.
Barry was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and rarely missed watching them on TV. Barry also loved going on cruises, taking many throughout the Caribbean, but his favorite cruise spot was going to Bermuda.
Surviving family is Janice Hershey of Lancaster, Jean Sanders of York, Robert C Sanders, husband of Lisa Sanders of Lancaster and Karen Anuscavage, wife of John P Anuscavage Jr. of Lititz. In addition to his parents, he was pre deceased by his twin brother, Kevin R Sanders.
Family and friends are invited to attend Barry‘s memorial service at the DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Saint Joseph’s New Catholic Cemetery, 170 Charles Rd., Lancaster. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barry‘s memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
