Barry Warren Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Posey Funeral Directors - North Augusta on Dec. 14, 2025.
North Augusta, SC – Mr. Barry Wayne "Red" Warren, 81, entered into rest December 13, 2025. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, December 20th, at 2 o'clock from First Christian Church of Belvedere with Rev. Jeff Foster officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 o'clock.

Wayne was born January 4, 1944, to the late B.W. Warren and Catherine Reynolds Warren. A native of Clearwater, SC, he graduated from North Augusta High School and retired from the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #85 with 50 years of service. Wayne was actively involved in the community for many years, coaching Dixie Youth Baseball (now known as Diamond Youth Baseball) and volunteering with the Belvedere Volunteer Fire Department. Wayne was a man of strong faith and a devoted member of First Christian Church of Belvedere. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed curating his baseball card collection. He also enjoyed owning Ford trucks, traveling and reading historical markers at historical sites, and "junking" at antique stores.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a daughter, Patti Ashcraft; a brother, Robert Warren; and a sister, Elizabeth Lenz. Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 57 years, Kathryn H. Warren; two daughters, Paula Warren Foster and her husband Rev. Jeff Foster, and Pam Warren; a grandson, Geoffrey Foster; a son-in-law, Jonathan Ashcraft; a brother, Richard Warren; a sister, Ann Rockett; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ron Allen, Ray Johnson, Rudy Brooks, Walter Durden, Junior Johnson, and Ernest Hooks.

Memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church of Belvedere, 203 Verdery Drive, Belvedere, SC 29841 or to support local Diamond Youth Baseball programs.

The family would like to thank the staff of NHC in North Augusta for their almost three year care of Wayne during his battle with dementia. He was known as "Mr. Belvedere" there.
