Bart Brandon Ely

Bart B. Ely, 54, of Ft. Wayne, IN, formerly of Sidney, OH, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born November 4, 1971, in Sidney, OH, the son of Ronald and B. Diane (Williams) Ely. His father preceded him in death. Bart is survived by his mother and step-father, B. Diane and Terry Lee, and his step-mother, Alberta Ely, all of Sidney.

Lindsay and Doug Bruns, Taylor and Matt Tucker,

Madison and Corey Goedde;

several great nieces and great nephews;

Alberta's sons, Gary, Matt, and Michael.

Bart was known for his quick wit and remarkable way with words, both spoken and written. He was always looking out for his nieces and nephews, offering guidance and encouragement in navigating life. Bart had a special place in his heart for dogs, and especially loved his dog, Molly, who was his best friend. He was an avid fan of the Buckeyes and loved attending the games. Bart was an electrician and handyman, and took pride in helping others. He will best be remembered for his humor, kindness and big heart.

Private family services will be held at the Plattsville Cemetery, Plattsville, OH. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Shelby Co. Humane Society.
