Basil A. Duncan, Jr, age 65, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025 at his home in Upper Sandusky.
Basil was born on May 25, 1960, in Marion, Ohio, to Basil Sr., and Georgia (Caldwell) Duncan, both of whom are deceased. He married Terri Bickham on June 5, 1993, and she survives in Upper Sandusky.
He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Byrd of Kenton, Anne Beaston of Upper Sandusky, and Beverly (Andy) Kirby of Nevada, along with grandchildren, May Byrd, Candice (James) Brady, Wyatt Kirby, Clayton Kirby, and great granddaughters, Hailey Brady, and Brooklynn Brady
Basil is also survived by his brothers, Joel (Shelly) Duncan of Brokensword, Harold (Sue) Caldwell of South Bloomfield, and Dallas Duncan of Marion, and sisters, Anna (Robert) Johnson of Marion, Debbie Caldwell of Bucyrus.
He was preceded by his parents, and a sister.
Basil was a 1979 graduate of Ridgedale High School and after graduation, went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Upon his return, he began working in maintenance for the former, Millington Plastics, and Tower Automotive, both in Upper Sandusky.
For hobbies, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. His family was most important to him, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren were his whole world.
There will be a visitation Celebrating the Life of Basil on Wednesday, December 3, from 1pm to 2pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, followed by a private burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Wyandot County Humane Society, and can be sent to Lucas Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
