Basilio Ortiz Jr

Basilio Ortiz Jr. (Papo), 53, passed away on 12/7/25 in Kissimmee,

Florida at the hospital, in the arms of his loving wife, Vickie and in the

presence of his son, Justin. In those final hours he was surrounded by

his loving daughters, Zia & Kali, & family including his niece Antionette,

and close friends. He was the husband of Vickie Ortiz. They shared 24

years of marriage, and 31 years together.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Basilio Ortiz & Luz

Esquilin. He attended Hartford High. He was a cook & construction

worker for many years.

He may not have been tied to one church, but his heart was full of faith.

He believed in God and turned to Him in prayer.. He enjoyed drawing,

cooking, listening to music, especially old school Hiphop, R&B &

Reggaeton, watching reality competition shows, action & comedy

movies, going to the beach, gatherings with friends, spending time with

his family, and dancing and traveling with his wife. He wore his heart on

his sleeve and carried a warmth that drew people in. He will be

remembered for being friendly to all, he was a loving man whose

kindness touched everyone he met. He had a playful spirit-whether he

was inventing silly dance moves or teaming up with his wife to pull

pranks on the kids, he loved filling his home with laughter. He was

famous among family and friends for his delicious lasagna, a dish made

with the same care and love he poured into his relationships. Above all,

he loved and was proud of his 3 children and adored his wife with a

fierce and passionate love that few are blessed to experience in a

lifetime.

He is survived by wife Vickie, children, Zia, Justin & Kali, grandchildren,

Ziyra, Serenity, and 1 on the way, mother, Luz, brother, Angel. His

paternal grandmother, Juanita, His maternal and paternal aunts &

uncles, his nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Aida

who meant the world to him & father Basilio.

The funeral service will be will held on Saturday 12/13/25 at Funeraria

San Juan Funeral Home 3189 S John Young Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL 34746

the viewing will be held from 10am-2pm
