Beatrice Gleason

Beatrice A. Costolo Gleason, age 94, of Erie, slipped away peacefully into more life than she had ever known on Saturday, August 30, 2025. She was born in Andover, OH on December 6, 1930, daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy Bolton.
Bea was a 1948 graduate of East High School and began her career at First National Bank, later retiring from PNC, where she worked in the safety deposit vault. A woman of strong faith, Bea was a devoted member of Garden Heights Baptist Church, where she lovingly taught 2 and 3 year-old Sunday School classes until the age of 85, and she also helped with Vacation Bible School. She had previously been a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she served as a teacher with both Pioneer Girls and Sunday School.
Bea was gifted and creative, especially with her pastel artwork and crochet. She lovingly crocheted more than 90 Christmas stockings, sharing them with family and friends. After marrying Dick, the two enjoyed many years of traveling together across the United States and to numerous countries, while also volunteering their time with JAARS.
Bea is survived by six children, Charles Costolo (Cindy), Thomas Costolo, Robert Costolo (Joy), Barbara Osborn (Dean), Gerald Costolo (Linda) and Richard Costolo (Jennifer); two stepchildren, Kerry Gleason (Kathe) and Deborah Beryl Gleason Adams Ryan (Sean); 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles "Bill" Costolo; a grandson, Andrew Costolo; her second husband, Richard P. Gleason; two brothers, Harold and Howard Bolton; and one sister, Wilma Blum.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Road (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek Twp.), on Saturday, September 13th, from 11 am until the time of the Funeral Service there at 1 pm.
