Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11 am for Beatrice Briscoe, who transitioned to her heavenly home on March 5, 2024.
Beatrice was born on November 4, 1945 to Leroy and Alberta Bruno Angelle in Lafayette, Louisiana. At a young age she worked in the fields with her parents and siblings as a sharecropper. On November 12, 1966 she married the love of her life, Percy Briscoe. From that union three children were born, Christopher, Jessica and Whalen.
Throughout her life she worked multiple service sector jobs. First, she worked at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital from 1974-1983 as a housekeeper. After her youngest son Whalen was born, she worked at Oakwood Village as a nursing assistant for three years. Later, Beatrice worked at University Medical Center for six years until she and her husband Percy began their own janitorial service company in 1995. She continued to clean houses for various clients until she became ill.
She was a blessing to many family members and valued time spent with siblings, children, and grandchildren. On Sundays, she always prepared large meals that fed her children and ailing family and friends. If you visited her home, she always made sure you had a plate to go or left with a full belly. Her favorite hobby was shopping.
