Beatrice G. Roy

Beatrice (Gross) Roy, 91, of Bristol, beloved widow of the late George J. Roy, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her own home. "Bea" was born in Bucksport, ME on December 8, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Alton and Beulah (Leach) Gross. She was raised in Bucksport and then moved to Bristol where she began her career as a nurse. She attained her master's degree in nursing from Graceland College of Iowa. For over 33 years, she was an RN at Bristol Hospital in the Emergency Department, retiring on December 31, 1999. Bea was a faithful communicant of St. Gregory the Great Church in Bristol, where she was a eucharistic minister. In her leisure time, you could find Bea working on something, whether it was in her garden or decorating the inside of her house. She also loved to crochet and feed the many birds in her yard. Beatrice is survived by her two daughters: Bonnitta M Roy and her husband Serafino Bueti of Winsted and Georgieanna Roy of Bristol. She was a loving grandmother to Krystyna Blakeslee and her husband Alton of New Canaan and George Joseph Roy Cloutier of Bristol and also by her two great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Beatrice Blakeslee and Oliver Ellsworth Blakeslee. She is also survived by her sister, Belle Leach of RI and by her brother, Gerry Gross of Bucksport, ME. Bea was predeceased by her siblings: Lois Leach, Milton Gross, Alton "Cuddy" Gross and Anna Gifford. A memorial service for Beatrice will be held on May 2nd at 10:30 am at St. Gregory the Great Church, 256 Maltby Street, Bristol, CT 06010. Burial will be private and there will be no calling hours.
